So out of it that I am! I aimed my camera at the striking woman being rushed at the Tuileries not knowing who she was but that I’d soon find out knowing only her shouted out name: Iggy. Any twenty-something knows it’s Iggy Azalea, rap recording star, songwriter, model from Mullumbimby, New South Wales. Chic, looking older than 23, she’s wearing a Viktor & Rolf $680 sweater and skinny snake print pants. A definite standout in the crowd and most willing to pose for the geekers. For her upcoming gigs in the U.S. and Canada click here.

Anna Dello Russo, fashion blogger, fashion sensation, Fashion Week Paris, fashionista, No Worries Paris

annadelrusso

Described by Helmut Newton as a “fashion maniac” ADR puts on the dog with her Mousekateer ensemble. Move over Annette, here comes Anna, passionate fashionista.

Before assuming her current position of Fashion Director and Editor-at-large at Vogue Nippon, Dello Russo spent 18 years at Condé Nast Italia, as fashion editor at Vogue Italia and as editor of L’Uomo Vogue from 2000-2006. Anna was born in Bari in Southern Italy, and now lives in Milan with her dog Cucciolina.

In her own words, her advice for the front row at fashion week:

“1. YOU MUST WEAR OUTFIT ONCE.
2. WEAR GOOD SHOES. DON’T BOTHER WITH A BAG CAUSE WHEN YOU PUT IT ON THE FLOOR IT COULD
BE ANYONE.
3. WEAR COAT AS A DRESS. ONE-SHOT IS BETTER.
4. DON’T WEAR SUNGLASSES, IF YOU NOT ARE VIP. IT’S IMPOLITE.
5. SOMEBODY WEARING YOUR SAME OUTFIT? WONDERFUL, YOU DID THE RIGHT CHOICE!
6. FLASHY JEWELS PERSONALIZE” YOUR STYLE.
7. NOTHING SUCCEEDS LIKE EXCESS!
8. DON’T PEEK INTO THE CLIPBOARD
OF WHO IS SITTING NEXT.
9. DON’T SAY HELLO SHOWILY AND WARMLY AT WHO IS IN FRONT OF YOU.
10. SHARE YOUR LOVE FOR THE SHOW ON TWITTER AS MUCH AS YOU CAN.”

I’ll end with a quote from this most original, self-promoting star: “If you like to be relaxed, you will never get the LOOK. Fashion is always UNCOMFORTABLE!”

The scurry of photographers gave away what was happening in the corner of the Tuileries. Too fast for me to record her name or who fashioned her ensemble, all I could do was click along with all the others captivated by the twirl of her enormously wide skirt. Thankfully, her beauty didn’t escape my telephoto lens.

Paris Fashion Week

Show over, one last pair take the pose for the amateur photographers at the Tuileries. Pros are all on their way to next show. Acne Studios at 2:30, Veronique Leroy at 3:30, Vivienne Westwood at 4:30, Comme Des Garcons at 5:30, Jean Paul Gaultier at 7:00 and Maiyet at 8:00. All at different locations, all reached by all means of transportion: private drivers, taxis, limos, and metro. Buyers, clients, editors, writers, guests from the fashion world make their choices, models scamper to their appointed show and tomorrow it will start all over again. It’s exiting, it’s exhausting.
