A walk along the Seine this time of year can be somber, brisk, wet, foggy, bright…..take your pick….whatever you’re delivered on the days you are there……you won’t be disappointed. Spending day one along this route is always a good idea. There are plenty of benches in Square du Vert Galant, Place Dauphine or the cobblestones at rivers edge will always do too. With No Worries Paris in your pocket you’re guaranteed never getting lost and finding the best route.
Understated Place Dauphine dates from 1860 and was named for Henry IV’s son, who became Louis XII. Untouched by Haussmann’s 19C revamp of the island, the benches amid chestnut trees have long been contemplative places for socialites, including actors Yves Montand and Simone Signoret, who lived in the residences overlooking Place Dauphine.
