The Edward Hopper exhibition at the Grand Palais (closes January 28) is divided chronologically into his formative years from 1900 to 1924 and emblamatic mature years, 1925 to 1966. Hopper lived in Paris in 1906 returning in 1909 and 1910 for shorter stays. He’s been called a realist, romantic, symbolist and formalist. You make the call. Worth the visit, an American original.
