The Seine has many personalities, many moods. For twelve years a 1.8 mile stretch has been transformed to a beach with 5,000 tons of sand and nearly 100 palm trees. This beach phenomenon, Paris Plage, lasts about a month and attracts about 3 million people. Hours 8 a.m. until midnight with 250 attendants on site to keep the beach clean and safe. A good way to beat the heat but surely no substitute for Hawaii.
