Piscine de la Butte-aux-Cailles
5 place Paul Verlaine , Paris 75013   Metro : Place d’Italie
Opened in 1924, the Butte-aux-Cailles swimming pool is startling at first sight, with its high vaulted roof supported by a number of concrete arches. The art nouveau style is totally in harmony with this picturesque district and the pool is one of two in Paris that are listed buildings. In terms of facilities, the pool rates above average with no less than three pools (a 33-metre pool, a 25-metre pool and a 12-metre pool). A key feature is that the roof can be opened in summer, offering Parisians the opportunity of swimming in the sunshine. Admission: 3 euros. Note: it will be closed on August 15 due to a strike.
